Emptying the Vessel

One of the best ways to get out of the mind and into the body is through this qi-gong inspired practice. It's a simple yet profound practice that will have you reducing your stress levels in minutes. Start with your feet apart, a slight bend in your knees and as you exhale and slowly curl your spine one vertebra at a time until you find yourself in a squatting position. Take a few breaths here until you uncurl your spine towards standing. Repeat this a few times imagine yourself literally emptying from the day.

Qi Gong

This is an ancient martial arts practice that has been used for thousands of years throughout China and Asia as a preventive measure for good health. It starts by removing energetic blockages in the body, then slowly beginning to cultivate what is known as your CHI body, or life force energy; keeping you strong, healthy and vital.

Embodied Dance

Dancing is one of the quickest and easiest ways to begin to move through emotions and stagnation in the body. Contrary to what many might think, its much less about what you look like, and much more about what you FEEL like. Try using Amanda's playlist here, closing your eyes and intuitively moving your body.

Melt Into Existence

Perhaps one of my favorite practices that is all about letting go and melting into the nothingness of each moment. Start out by listening to this playlist here as you lay on your back on the floor and take a few deep, long exhales. From here slowly begin to intuitively move into a space where you feel your body tight/sore. Hold this posture, pause, and take a deep exhale with sound. Continue finding new places of tension/tightness and repeat for 10-20 minutes.

Bio-dynamic shaking

A powerful practice that can help you regulate your nervous system when you are triggered or in overwhelm as well as it can help you clear your mind almost immediately. Stand with knees bent hip width distance apart, relax your jaw and shoulders and begin to shake (place a timer for 5-10 minutes) and don’t stop until you hear the buzzer. For best results use SOUND and put on a song that gets you moving.

Orgasmic Kundalini Breathwork

A great practice from Tantric Master OSHO and still one I use often today. Begin with feet hip width distance, knees slightly bent. Start by relaxing your jaw and start inhaling and exhaling through the mouth as you bounce up and down from your bend knees. Do this for a few minutes at each chakra of the body starting at the root until you meet the crown. When finished, lay down and rest in savasana (warning this may boost libido).

Emptying your mind

When you want to empty your mind, the best thing you can do is to get into your body. Emptying your mind is a powerful embodiment practice that helps you move away from your thoughts by bringing you into direct connection with present moment awareness through feeling where your body is holding onto tension, moving TOWARDS rather than away from that sensation and using breath & sound to move the stuck energy located there.

BONUS (for women): Devotional Breast Massage

One of the best weekly practices esp. for women is working with the breasts both energetically and physically. To do this take 10-20 minutes of time, put on a beautiful relaxing playlist, warm up some oil (coconut or sesame is great) add some organic essential oils and begin to invite deep breaths and conscious loving touch into your connection with your breasts. There are many techniques and strokes you can follow but the most important is that you follow your own felt sense intuition.
